Northern Kentucky University is the Final Stop before the LG Action Sports Championships

LOS ANGELES (July 31, 2008) – With the first sporting event in their new facility, the Bank of Kentucky Center at Northern Kentucky University hosts the country’s premier action sports circuit when ASA Entertainment’s (ASA) 2008 Action Sports World Tour (ASWT) returns to Ohio on October 3 and 4. The state of the art sports and entertainment arena will offer fans two nights of explosive action sports entertainment featuring the world’s best in skateboarding and BMX competition, as well as high-flying FMX demos, newly added to the Cincinnati tour stop this season. This is the final opportunity for the sport’s most daring athletes to showcase their talents and gain the status needed to qualify for ASA’s prestigious LG Action Sports World Championships. It’s ASA’s first event in the greater Cincinnati area in three years; the tour visited Sawyer Point in 2005.

Thrilling more than 50,000 Cincinnati area fans in past years with unbelievable excitement, ASA’s Action Sports World Tour offers $1.6 million in prize money and draws the top athletes from around the world. Previous Cincinnati ASWT winners have included Simon Tabron (Newquay, England) in Freestyle BMX and Buster Halterman (Wellsville, PA) in Skateboard Vert. With the addition of Freestyle Motocross, fans will see a clash of the best action sports athletes competing today.

Tickets for the Cincinnati ASWT go on sale on Friday, August 1st at 10:00 a.m. Seats start at $7.50 for military personnel and children, increasing to $15.00 for adults, $30 for ramp seats and $60 for VIP packages, which include t-shirts, programs and limited edition laminates.
